Job Summary

Getty Communications seeks a Social Media Video Producer/Editor to join the Social Media team. Together with the Head of Social Media, Social Media Manager, and Social Media Producer, the Social Media team is responsible for developing and producing compelling stories about art, art history, conservation, cultural heritage, and Getty’s work broadly, as well as social media community management and engagement.

 

The Social Media Video Producer/Editor will work closely with the rest of Getty’s editorial and social team—and with colleagues across Communications and across the entire organization to support growing social media video efforts. The Producer/Editor should have a strong sense of audience and story, strong video editing and digital asset management skills, and a collaborative attitude.

 

This role will film, produce, and edit original video content for Getty’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok. They will also manage and track video assets and assist with all aspects of post-production to ensure that video assets meet Getty brand standards.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Film, produce, and edit original video content for Getty’s social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok
  • Optimize, edit, and adapt existing footage for social media with Getty social audiences in mind
  • Maintain consistent visual style for social videos that consider format, style, tone, and voice
  • Pitch ideas and work with the team to write video scripts and treatments based on Getty initiatives, collections exhibitions, events, campaigns, social media trends, and more
  • Coordinate with video producers, communications colleagues, and subject matter experts across the organization
  • Organize and manage social video assets throughout the lifetime of a project
  • Occasional video editing and production support for cross-team Communications projects
  • Occasional coaching and mentoring social media team members in video set-ups, skills, and processes
  • Occasionally, work with external vendors and partners on social media video projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A portfolio of original, creative social media video work
  • Interest in art and art history
  • Comfortable recording voiceover for video
  • Comfortable appearing on camera
  • Strong visual storytelling skills
  • Advanced skills shooting video on iPhone and DSLR and/or mirrorless camera, as well as with gimbal, microphones, ring light, and other associated equipment
  • Advanced video editing skills using both social media content creation tools, as well as more traditional video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere
  • Understanding of best practices for video on each social platform that dictate aspect ratio, length, caption placement, in-app features, and more
  • Experience directing and interviewing on-camera specialists to get compelling quotes 
  • Fluency in social media video trends
  • A team player with a self-starting attitude and collaborative mindset
  • Comfortable getting and receiving feedback and addressing notes quickly in a collaborative creative environment
  • Excellent social skills, able to communicate and work with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization
  • Manage numerous projects with overlapping deadlines
  • An inclusive and open-minded attitude
