Job Summary

Getty is seeking a collaborative and service-focused leader with expertise in inspiring digital teams in delivering exceptional IT services and effciency to be the next Campus Technologies Director. This role will work with Getty stakeholders across the Trust in several campus locations in the greater Los Angeles area to develop and implement strategies to modernize and improve IT experiences and effective service delivery to Getty employees and staff-adjacent knowledge workers.


The chosen candidate joins Getty at the forefront of a nearly $100M multi-year digital roadmap, which includes a significant investment to transform Getty’s enterprise applications, identity and access management infrastructure, IT Service Management, data analytics capacity, and operational efficiency and service offerings. To support this critical investment, this role is also tasked with working alongside the Getty Digital leadership as projects are initiated, executed and delivered to Getty staff. This individual will be focused on optimizing operational processes and streamlining our users’ digital experiences. They will also be critical to our success as we implement new self-service offerings to the Getty user community.


This role is responsible for overseeing three teams. Getty Digital’s Technical Support team handles Level 1 and 2 technical support and IT asset management. The Digital Workspace Support team focuses on the management and security of endpoint computing devices. The Campus Technologies Director will also help build and oversee the newly formed Unified Communications team whose focus will be on rationalizing and optimizing our current collaboration tools portfolio (M365, Zoom, Slack, Ring Central, Google, etc.) and enabling the Getty community to succeed with easy to find and critical tools that support their collaborative work. Managing through their managers and supervisors, this role will oversee a team of over 20 who make up the Campus Technologies department. This position will report to the Deputy CIO and will participate as an active member of the VP and CIO's Leadership Team. This person hires, manages and develops personnel in accordance with Getty HR policies and Getty Digital operating objectives.

Major Job Responsibilities

A Leader and Technologist
Campus Technologies support and management is the core responsibility of this position: They lead their team to evaluate, implement, support and maintain campus technology standards and tools. Key technologies include Microsoft 365, Zoom, VoIP, Slack, and many other content and collaboration tools.


An ITSM Practitioner
This person implements and maintains ITSM processes across all services to ensure the quality of service and user satisfaction. This person also adheres to the Getty Digital Governance process to ensure accountability and proper adoption of new technologies throughout the campus. 


A User Advocate
This position maintains strong relationships with all Getty user departments and fosters a proactive approach to communicate and obtain feedback from users to ensure technologies serve Getty staff in the best possible way. This person oversees all user journeys across the service, ensuring they align to our commitment to a best-in-class service offering. This position is a user champion within Getty Digital and ensures the needs of Getty staff are considered in everything we do.

 

A Strong Manager and Administrator
This person is a motivational manager who can lead and develop a team of team supervisors within their department. This person works closely with Getty Procurement, equipment vendors, resellers, and external service providers. This person is responsible for major vendor relations and contract management from RFPs, negotiations, to renewals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 to 10 years of supervisory and campus technology experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proven ability to recognize problems and create effective resolution plans and oversee their successful implementation
• Solid experience in user support, communication, and education 
• Strong technical background in Desktop Management programs is a plus
• Experience in establishing new Unified Communication systems is a plus
• Experience in higher education and/or non-profit organizations is a plus
• Experience in managing information technology budgets, vendor relationships and contracts
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment and manage multiple/complex projects and meeting deadlines
• Proven ability to successfully oversee and facilitate technical and/or process changes across user communities
• Demonstrated success in recruiting, training, evaluating, developing and managing staff with a keen awareness around diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion
• Must be able to work on site frequently at the Getty locations in the Brentwood area multiple days a week.
