Job Summary

Will work with Project Team to build new intranet, including web writing, building pages, images, documenting best practices, and helping to train Getty colleagues how to use the system.  Under close supervision, assists in the development and publication of basic end user training materials, including web sites, PDFs, videos and instructional guides. Assists in evaluation of key content needs. Updates and maintains simple web sites. May coordinate and conduct basic classroom training and demonstrations. 

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Organizes material and completes documentation assignments according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, online accessibility, and terminology
  • Designs and formats publications, and coordinates web postings and/or distribution of user materials
  • Confers with IT project teams to establish subject material to be developed for publication
  • Manipulates digital images, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material
  • Drafts simple end user publications by acquiring background material through research and interviews with technical and business staff
  • Develops educational materials, including web pages, and communication materials for projects to assist application and project managers to achieve their goals, and to enable quick adoption by end users
  • Participates in testing of new applications and technologies
  • Follows department standards for material presentation, appearance, quality and consistency


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and relevant experience
  • 0-2 years IT educational development and delivery experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent writing and grammar skills in addition to relevant technical knowledge
  • Good working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Good working knowledge of content management systems such as TeamSite
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Adobe creative suite of applications
