As Getty’s Communications team continues to grow, the News and Media Relations team seeks a Communications Specialist who has a knack for unearthing compelling stories, has experience working with journalists, and is interested in a wide range of topics, including art, theater, antiquities, technology, and conservation.
Getty Communications oversees public relations, public affairs, marketing, and digital communications programs for Getty, including the Getty Research Institute, Conservation Institute, Foundation and Museum. The department seeks to inspire joy and insight by sharing art and the scholary output of Getty. We seek to increase global, national, and regional awareness of Getty and its impact as a prominent global institution advancing visual art and cultural heritage. Through creative content development, digital communications, media relations and advertising efforts, we expand access to Getty content and engage both professional and public audiences.
The Communications Specialist is responsible for various communications projects related to the Getty Center and Villa Museums, including assisting the Communications Manager with drafting press releases, press outreach and relationship development, media research, contributing to Getty’s news platform, and developing communications strategies. Position will also manage media outreach and communications planning for Getty Museum exhibitions, working in partnership with the Digital and Marketing teams.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Communications Manager.
Note: Los Angeles residency required. This position is NOT fully remote and consists of a hybrid in-office and WFH schedule.
