Job Summary

Organizes and conducts training and institutional programs in coordination with management for promotional development, in-service training, and employee orientation. Prepares lesson plans including the method, media and documentation to be presented. Conducts follow up and maintains records of training activities. Tracks employee progress and analyzes program effectiveness. Participates in the design and development of training materials. Requires knowledge and understanding of adult learning theories. Designs and develops in-house training materials using various media. Prepares and supports staff to perform their job duties. Works with operations management team to identify training opportunities, and partner with operational supervisors and managers in the delivery of training.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Obtains and maintains required certifications
  • Applies knowledge of training and development to assignments of moderate complexity
  • Organizes and conducts employee training events
  • Tracks employee progress and assists in analyzing training program effectiveness
  • Researches alternative outside training programs
  • Maintains training records, rosters and certificates to ensure employee certification, compliance
  • Participates in new hire recruitment and orientation
  • Designs and develops training materials


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-5 years combined business training experience and appropriate subject-area knowledge
  • Certification in training and/or technical specialty preferred

  • Performs standard work requiring application of standard techniques and procedures

  • May provide technical support and subject matter expertise through project management responsibilities
  • May assist in developing and executing project plan and budget
  • Must be proficient with computer applications including Power Point, MS Word and Excel
