Job Summary

Provides guidance and direction to business units, in areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, recruitment and employment, personnel matters, job evaluation, salary administration, benefits procedures, organization development, training, EEO and special projects. Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through documents, communications, and/or meetings. Prepares reports in conformance with legislated requirements or organization needs.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Supports the effort to embed diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion into the HR roles and responsibilities and the organization's HR-related functions
  • Assists in the day‐to‐day administration of policies and programs in human resources areas including but not limited to recruitment, leave management, performance management and training
  • Reviews applications and may interview applicants to match experience with specific job-related requirements, oversees and approves background checks and in liaison with Compensation staff recommends salary offers
  • Helps disseminate policies and procedures
  • With general supervision, investigates basic employee relations issues, recommends and facilitates effective solutions in alignment with applicable policies and laws
  • With supervision, coaches and advises staff on organizational and employee issues
  • Oversees performance management process; outlines procedures and creates documents specific to the organization as needed; provides relevant coaching and guidance
  • Assesses organizational and individual staff development needs. Identifies and consults with staff on training and career development opportunities. Develops and conducts relevant training and participates in training design
  • Oversees and approves human resources transactions submitted for processing
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4-5 years experience in the Human Resources field including 1‐2 years experience as a business partner

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge of all areas of Human Resources
  • With general supervision and oversight, serves as a consultant and advisor to management in employee relations, employment and labor law, staffing and employment and organizational development
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish credibility and trust with a diverse client group
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, judgment, negotiating and decision making skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
  • Strong facilitation and oral and written communication skills; ability to prepare clear and concise reports and deliver formal presentations or training to a variety of audiences
  • Demonstrated proficiency with business office applications and human resources information systems
