  • Job Summary

    Deadline to submit an application is midnight of January 31, 2020.


    Monitors equipment and systems that may include security access and intrusion systems, surveillance systems, radio communication systems and fire/life safety systems. Reports deviations from normal operating conditions to supervisor. Dispatches resources according to defined control room procedures. Updates control room procedures in coordination with management as needed. Assists technical staff in performing programming, preventative maintenance, testing and service of security, fire/life safety and communications equipment. Monitors ongoing operations and serves as a central point in dispatching and coordinating activity. Works on assignments and projects of moderate scope and complexity. Assists in training control room staff. May also be scheduled for other assignments.

    Major Job Responsibilities

    • Applies knowledge of security control room operations to assignments of moderate scope and complexity, following established procedures.
    • Monitors security surveillance systems and responds promptly and appropriately to problems.
    • Compiles and monitors a log of actions performed.
    • Maintains and assists technical staff with the programming and testing of security, fire/safety and communications equipment.
    • May drive Getty vehicle in emergency or backup situations.
    • Ensures that personal appearance and manner are professional and representative of the Getty’s desired image.
    • Communicates and coordinates with internal clients, neighbors, law enforcement, emergency services, and other external clients.
    • Responds to emergency situations in a calm, efficient and professional manner.


    • High School/GED
    • Minimum 2 years related experience
    • Demonstrates excellent communication skills
    • Current California drivers license with fewer than 3 DMV points

    • Performs standard support functions
    • Applies knowledge of policies, practices, trends and information to assignments of moderate complexity.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Proficiency with standard business software
