  • Job Summary

    Reporting directly to the Manager of Engineering and Maintenance, oversees and monitors daily engineering operations of the Getty Villa department including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Maintenance technicians.

    Major Job Responsibilities

    • Dispenses work orders to technicians for preventive and corrective maintenance and ensures they are completed on time
    • Obtains quotes from outside vendors for maintenance contracts and projects
    • Ensures that projects are completed on time and within established parameters
    • Ensures Facilities and Engineering departmental objectives, procedures and policies are followed
    • Emergency responder for Facilities
    • Prepares and tracks budgets
    • Manages subordinate employees including mentoring, coaching, counseling, training, evaluating and coordinating the employee's work
    • Provides guidance and technical expertise to staff when needed
    • May participate in establishment of and recommend modifications to policies affecting immediate area
    • Ensures collections environment protection rules are observed and responds appropriately to emergencies and problems
    • Works directly with internal and external clients on a variety of issues and projects

    Qualifications

    • 2 to 3 years of supervisory experience of technical staff
    • 5 to 7 years experience in the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of either refrigeration, air conditioning, controls, or electrical systems
    • Associates degree in engineering preferred
    • Experience with Kronos time keeping system, Maximo work order system, and PeopleSoft preferred
    • Proficient with MS Office and Building Automation System (BMS) controls experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Ability to read and understand specifications, blueprints and drawings relating to assigned equipment required
    • Good written and verbal communication skills required along with strong supervisory, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide variety of Getty staff, outside contractors and vendors
