The Getty Conservation Institute (GCI) is seeking a Senior Project Coordinator to support the Web and Digital Initiatives department. The GCI is a non-profit organization with the mission of advancing conservation practice in art and architecture worldwide, and in service of that, the Web and Digital Initiatives department focuses on disseminating information and developing tools using various web technologies. The position will be based in the GCI office at the Getty Center and will support the GCI’s web presence on getty.edu as well as a variety of complex international projects including the Arches and DISCO projects.
Applies comprehensive knowledge of Institutional and departmental policies and procedures to complete a wide range of complex project coordination tasks. Will track all changes to the web and update the GCI’s web content using a variety of web programming tools. Scans and adjusts images for publication on the web, assists with testing of new content, and analyses statistics of web usage. Regularly monitors web content for accuracy. Assists in the creation and tracking of contracts, including communication with outside vendors and processing invoices for payment. Assists in preparation of budget materials and tracks, monitors, and reports on project budget expenditures. Coordinates logistics for complicated international travel and prepares travel documents and expense reports. Arranges logistics and assists international visitors to the Institute. May help coordinate international meetings, training courses, conferences, seminars, etc. as needed.
A Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of experience coordinating projects, as well as a practical knowledge of modern web technologies is required.
Candidates must be detailed-oriented with strong time management skills, able to effectively handle multiple demands and shifting priorities. Must be a good problem-solver with strong written, verbal communication, and listening skills. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite; HTML text editors such as Sublime, BBEdit, etc. Familiarity with Google Analytics strongly desired.
