The Getty Research Insitute (GRI) seeks a responsible, proactive, communicative, and collaborative supervisor to manage the GRI’s daily Library Annex Circulation operation, which includes a number of library assistants who maintain a collection of more than 900,000 library volumes currently housed in an offsite warehouse facility 30 miles north of the Getty Center. Core tasks include overseeing Annex circulation and digitization workflows. This position is the Library Annex’s primary on site contact responsible for coordinating activities as necessary with other Getty Research Institute and Trust departments working at the Annex. Reports to the Manager of Circulation.

* Bachelor’s degree in art history or related discipline preferred.
* 1-2 years of lead or supervisory and training experience.
* 1-2 years of experience in library setting.

Familiarity with handling special collections materials.
Familiarity with library preservation principles.
Ability to lift boxes up to 40 pounds and to push heavy book trucks.
