The Getty Research Institute (GRI) Research Library seeks a creative, forward-looking, collaborative, and service-oriented Electronic and Digital Resources Librarian. The position reports to the Head of Library Technical Services and has a leading role in the workflows that establish and maintain discovery of and access to the library’s electronic resources licensed locally and consortially through the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC). The position also has a leading role in providing cataloging and bibliographic metadata related to internal and external electronic resources and locally digitized resources. The position has a supporting role in ensuring the integrated discovery and access across this same set of resources. In addition, the position serves as the Library’s primary contact with SCELC, vendors, and publishers, and library personnel regarding discovery and access issues associated with the Library’s licensed electronic resources. As a key member of a cross-unit electronic resources management team, the position coordinates with various Library units for managing electronic resources in such functions as acquisitions, cataloging, collection development, and user services. The position also collaborates internally with other GRI and J. Paul Getty Trust units regarding bibliographic metadata related to digitized resources. The position is expected to play an active role in the Library’s e-resource related training, projects, and initiatives.
